PETROS SARIDAKIS
CRETAN NIGHT
Petros Saridakis, composer and performer with skill in the Cretan lyre, comes from Heraklion, Crete. He studied business administration and marketing at the University of Hertfordshire, while he has advanced music studies in classical guitar. From a very young age, his contact with the Cretan lyre is a lifelong relationship, through which he expresses his every emotion. He has created three albums (2004, 2007, 2010). Since 2015, his band “Nami” offers the public a journey at the Cretan music through the marriage of tradition with the modern, through loops, natural traditional sounds but also midi avant-garde musical specifications, in a range of music selections that includes traditional Cretan songs and melodies, songs from Greek islands, covers and songs from his own discography in a modern style.
